Report
Nederlands:

English:
The match between Chelsea FC and AS Monaco kicks off at 16:30. Both physically strong sides keep each other in balance during the opening phase. The first threat comes from the English team: a shot from Reggie Watson takes a slight deflection and crashes against the post. The resulting corner leads to nothing.
As the first half progresses, Chelsea dominates possession, but the most dangerous chances fall to the Monegasques. Serigne Malick Sylla (AS Monaco) wins the ball in midfield and, via Nael Haddani, gets it back. His shot is blocked, and the score remains 0–0. Moments later, however, the French side breaks the deadlock as Nael Haddani finishes clinically to make it 1–0.
Just before halftime, Sol Gordon (Chelsea) finds himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Yanis Benchaouch Marty, but the AS Monaco keeper pulls off a brilliant save to preserve the lead heading into the break.
After the restart, the goals come thick and fast. First, Serigne Malick Sylla doubles Monaco’s lead with a well-placed strike to make it 2–0. Two minutes later, a careless giveaway by Ibrahim Rabbaj gifts Chelsea a chance, but Ilies Belmokhtar fires over.
In the 27th minute, Chelsea finally finds the net. A free kick from Reggie Watson rebounds off the wall and lands at the feet of Lewi Richards, who unleashes a stunning strike into the top corner—possibly a contender for goal of the tournament. The tension escalates as Mathis Eboue is played through immediately after and finishes with precision to level the score at 2–2.
But AS Monaco quickly regains control. Just two minutes after the equalizer, Kenan Moulangou restores the lead with a composed finish: 3–2.
Chelsea pushes forward, but the closest they come is a deflected shot from Ibrahim Rabbaj, which is comfortably saved by Marty. And so, the team led by former Champions League winner Djimi Traoré kicks off the tournament with a hard-fought victory.
