Report

English:
The final of the 75th edition of the Otten Cup was a repeat of the group stage match, in which Atlético Madrid had emerged victorious with a 2–1 win.
It was clear from the start that both teams had grown throughout the tournament. However, the Monegasques were forced to continue with one man down just 17 seconds into the match after receiving a yellow card. Atlético Madrid naturally increased the pressure in an attempt to capitalize on their numerical advantage. After just four minutes, the Spaniards took advantage through Gonzalo Gross.
Four minutes later, Safouane Benzahra brought AS Monaco level again with Atlético Madrid. From that point on, AS Monaco took more control of the match and gave little away. The Spaniards failed to produce any real dangerous attacks and were dealt a blow just before halftime. Nacim Dendani put AS Monaco ahead 2–1, which was also the score at the break.
In the second half, AS Monaco quickly sealed the match through Yasir Mouh. The deficit seemed to affect the Spanish players mentally. They grew increasingly frustrated—though not unsportsmanlike—and their performance suffered as a result.
Toward the end of the match, the Spanish head coach received a red card for repeatedly criticizing the officials. The score remained unchanged, and thus, tournament debutant AS Monaco claimed a well-deserved victory.
