Report
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
In this semi-final on the main pitch, the hosts slightly had the upper hand.
Midway through the first half, AS Monaco had taken control of the match and created a few chances.
A prime example of how the new rules work: PSV thought they had scored after a free kick header from Sami Bouhoudane, but he was ruled offside. AS Monaco quickly restarted the game and almost caught PSV off guard, but fully sprinting the Dutch defenders managed to prevent AS Monaco from getting anaother chance.
Shortly thereafter, AS Monaco were reduced to 10 men after receiving a yellow card (for kicking the ball away after the referees whistle).
Anton Martyniuk was nearly stripped of his shirt in the penalty area and fell to the ground. The referee, however, was having none of it, and shortly after, AS Monaco took the lead through Nael Haddani. Less than a minute later, Yannick Dodo beat the offside trap and even made it 2-0. Halftime score 2-0
In the second half, hosts PSV tried to increase the pressure, but AS Monaco held their own relatively easily. As the second half progressed, the hosts' confidence waned slightly, while the Monegasques gained momentum. AS Monaco scored a third goal, effectively sealing the match.
In the closing stages, PSV received a yellow card (Khaderi) and a red card (Kuijsten). The standings remained unchanged, and AS Monaco deservedly reached the final.
