Tibo Persyn: "We must be physically prepared but also mentally”

Internazionale and Anderlecht shared honours in a 1-1 draw. After the game we spoke to Inter player Tibo Persyn, a Belgian youth international.

"The Otten Cup has kicked off. What do you think of your first match?”

“We did not find our rhythm in the first half but improved after the break. We scored an equaliser but could not snatch a late win.”

“Why was the first half a low-key affair?”

“We made a long trip and maybe we suffered from a lack of sleep.”

“You provided the assist for the 1-1. What type of football player are you?”

“I have explosive speed and try to anticipate what is going to happen before I get the ball.”

“Have you set any objectives for this tournament?”

“We want to win the Otten Cup. As to myself, I want to get the best out of myself every game and perform to the best of my ability.”

“You were invited to take part in the training camp of the first team.”

“It’s been a great experience. It took time to adapt to playing at such a high level but I’ve done my best. It was awesome to take part in training sessions with older, experienced players and learn the game.”

“What about tomorrow’s game?”

“We must be physically prepared but also mentally. We must rest and look forward to Saturday’s game.”

“PSV Campus de Herdgang has been completely renovated and has just opened its doors. How you feel about the training facilities?”

“I think it is an impressive training ground. The pitches are in perfect condition and I feel privileged to take part in this tournament.”
